Medieval Burg Castle Roman Cavalry Helmet 18 Gauge

This is a late Roman Cavalry helmet as would have been worn in Britain. Sometimes called a Ridge Helmet, this helmet was worn from the 3rd century to well beyond the 7th, making this a helmet that was worn for several centuries. The Romans probably developed this helmet from the Samaritans and the cavalry variation is designated by its use of cheek pieces whereas the infantry version did not typically have them.
