Description

Medieval Musketeers 17th Century Historical Pikemen Helmet made of 16 Gauge Steel. This fully battle-ready replica of a medieval, visor less helmet. During tournaments it was often worn underneath a great helm or a simple cloth head dress. During close combat or "normal" battle the great helmets were often discarded as they impeded sight and breathing and were very hot. So often the steel skull cap provided the only protection while allowing for best possible vision. Made from 16 gauge steel, This is a replica of a helmet as depicted in Jacob de Gheyn's Wapenhandelinge. Helmets like this were worn during the 17th century in European armies. They were worn both by pike men and musketeers.. This is an inexpensive battle-ready helmet for beginners. Use a heavy inner padding inside for protection. Standard Adult Size fully wearable.
